Oh. Thank you. [She carefully hands over a few of the other bags but keeps the blanket wrapped around her arms.] That's everything. Let's go home.
[Justine guides him to her house even though he likely has the way memorized by now. Her side remains pressed against his, a light smile touching the edge of her lips as she feels the pleasant warmth of his presence. She wants to just close her eyes and feel him. Innocent or not. He's intoxicating.
Once they reach her home she guides him towards her bed room.] Sit on the bed and close your eyes. I want to set up.
[Connor nods, kicking his shoes off first and setting them neatly off to the side with the bags before climbing onto the bed and closing his eyes. He was reluctant to let go of Justine's hand, but just her presence is a comfort.]
[She touches his shoulder and gently pushes him down so that he's sitting on the bed. Her fingers then lightly brush against his eyelids, gently teasing them to close.] I'll be quick. [Justine whispers close to his ear, her breath and voice thick with warmth.] Just be patient.
[When she's sure that he's going to listen she begins to quickly set everything up.]
Okay. You can open your eyes now. [It takes her about twenty minutes to set everything up. He'll see at the read nook's chair has been pushed aside and in front of the three paneled windows is now the thick dark blue blanket she'd purchased. Pillows adorn its edges and candles around it. She'd closed the door and turned off the lights creating a soft glowing atmosphere. There are a few books on the blanket and the bottle of wine with a single glass for her. One of the windows is open, pulling in cool evening air. The sun has mostly set leaving only a soft orange glow on the horizon.
Justine is sitting on the blanket and beckoning him to her.] What do you think? It's a picnic, of sorts, for us.
I thought not. [She slides into the seat next to him, curling affectionately against his side.] It traditionally includes food and since you don't eat, well, I made a guess. [It had been a very safe assumption.]
I'm glad you like it.
I brought some books. I thought we could read if you wanted too.
[Justine smiles up at him and then lightly presses an innocent kiss against his cheek. They could do whatever he wants but she wants them to be close, together, like this. She wants to feel his presence hum against her skin. It's different from anything she's felt before: from her physic connection with Thomas the White Vampire and from her bond with Majima who is another witch.
It's calming. Perfect. Soothing. And it's Connor.]
This story here is a romance. It's about a witch and a monster that fall in love before the time that Bonds were only made between witches. I thought it was a fitting story.
[He slides an arm around her to hold her close, picking up the book in question.]
Would you like me to read it to you?
[He turns to kiss the top of her head, then opens the book with his free hand. He doesn't seem to have any problem with navigating the pages despite only using his thumb, and despite being somewhat distracted with Justine's presence. He can't stop thinking about how close they feel now. He'd felt close with Hank after Bonding with him, but this is different. Maybe because his relationship with Justine has always been quite physical.]
I like your voice. [A smile shapes her lips.] Even if it almost made me drown once. [Her tone is light and teasing, her mouth shaping into a pleased smile. It'd been frightening at the time but now... it's a happy memory.

I can carry those as well, if you like.
[It's not like his fingers will hurt from carrying them.]

Are you sure you don't want my help?

It's perfect.
[He moves to step over the candles and sit on the blanket instead, gesturing for Justine to sit with him.]
I've never been on a picnic before.

As are most memories with Connor.]
