[Connor follows along and smiles at Sumo in the party hat. Adorable. It fades a little at the questioning, though.]

Oh. We don’t have to wait, I just...

[He fiddles with Hank’s fingers, then leans against him.]

You know those dreams we have where we meet some of the people who could arrive here? Well... I saw the SQUIP.

[Welp, party is briefly put on hold. Hank guides the both of them to the couch with a little choice of a few swear words.]

So you think It's coming back, then?

[It's not that Hank really hats It more what It did to Connor.]

It might. I don't know.

[He wants it to. He misses it. He knows that what it did to him was bad, but after all this time... he can't hate it. He still loves it.

He feels a little of Hank's anger though, and he looks up at him as he sits beside him.]

You're still angry.

Right.

[He huffs, not realizing there's a tiny bit of smoke that exists his mouth. He can also feel some of Connor's feelings and he hates that part of their bond sometimes.]

Yeah of course I am. That's not the type of shit I'd forgive anyone for...I've separated with people for far less.

[Connor rubs a hand over his face, looking conflicted. It's true that Connor is... well, more forgiving than he should be. Hank is a good example. He put a gun to his head, he insulted him countless times... but at the end of it they've come out as partners, even lovers. Connor would rather not hate someone if he can help it. Hank was genuinely sorry, and so is the SQUIP.

He glances over, sees the smoke, and rubs Hank's arm.]

Hank... I want you to know that even if it does come back, that doesn't change how I feel about us. About you. If you're happy to continue the way we are... I am, too.

[If Hank could read his thoughts (well more than usual anyway) he'd probably argue that it was different. And yet...urgh.]

Look...I'm not worried about me, I'm worried about you and what It might try to do again.

[Also maybe a little worried. Hank almost lost someone very important to him before.]

I still wanted to say it. Just so you know.

[He just knows Hank can get hung up on things, and he doesn’t want him to think he’s just a stand in for someone else.]

Look... it promised it would never do it again. It was sorry. I felt it, through the Bond. It wasn’t lying.

[He had felt how earnestly sorry it was, knew what a big deal that was for it.]

That has to mean something, right?
