Aefenglom Monster Info
CONNOR art by crescendoll AGE: Appears late 20s D.O.B: 15-08-2038 SPECIES: Merrow OCCUPATION: Pile's Petagorium RESIDENCE: Cottage HOARD HANDGUN A standard handgun with four bullets. RING ON A NECKLACE A silver ring with a teardrop shaped topaz, worn on a small silver chain. Given to him by the SQUIP. COINS One is a typical coin, used for tricks. The other is a quarter originally taken from him by Hank, but later returned. The others are shiny, left either with the rest of Connor's valuables or at the bottom of his pool. Most are from Justine. VARIOUS RINGS Several rings of varying sizes. Most are costume/fake jewellery, but a couple are expensive. The most cherished is the one given to him by Hank. WATCH CHAIN Given to him for his birthday by Ada, the chain is white gold and has sapphires embedded into it. | HUMAN FORM Connor is six foot tall, on the skinny side, with neat brown combed back hair. He has a circular LED on his temple that indicates he's an android. He dresses smartly for the most part, and likes to look presentable. His fingers and toes are webbed, and his hands and feet are covered in orange and blue scales up to the forearms/knees. MERROW FORM Gains a bright orange and blue tail, with fins on his ears and forearms. His scales creep up over his back. His teeth become sharp, and he has gills on his torso. His fingernails become slightly longer. The inside of his mouth is blue. FULL MOON FORM Eyes become milky blue with a black sclera and no pupils, and he's mostly blind above water. The fins on his arms, tail and ears become larger and fan out more. Whiskers and ear fins gain small, bioluminescent balls. Remaining skin becomes scaly, though still flesh-coloured (tail and arms remain blue and orange). Canine teeth, fingers and nails elongate.

Mandatory Changes
▪ Tying in with their perks, Merrow need to be able to survive underwater. Non-mammalian individuals can be seen with gills on their necks and/or ribs, closed typically when they're on land. Mammalian Merrow are well known for having greater lung capacity, which can results in possibly larger ribcages and diaphragms.
▪ Webbed fingers, as well as webbed toes when they're not in their aquatic form.
▪ Sharper teeth, along with a stronger jaw strength.
▪ Poison barbs, spines, quills, etc, or even small signs of fins (pectoral or dorsal), depending on the type of aquatic creature the particular Merrow in question is. These are smaller when the Merrow is on land, to the point of being almost unnoticeable for some.
▪ Eyesight and hearing that are far better underwater than it is on land. Some Merrow may even find that their eyesight is poorer above water, depending. However, all Merrow have a nictitating membrane - a third eyelid - that protects their eyes from debris and irritants.
▪ A more feral looking form during the full moons, which can also be triggered during high emotion situations. Because of the moon's relation to the tide, and this world's presence of two moons, Merrow find themselves changed into their aquatic form regardless of whether they're in water or not. This means that their hair may appear more wild, but also that their body is covered in scales or hide, their teeth may appear sharper, claws may grow from nails. A more feral mindset will also kick in for Merrow that have a harder time with their less human instincts, the ones that fight the change.
Optional Changes
▪ A greater tolerance in general for water temperatures that many would find inhospitable. Typically this falls in the colder range, but can vary depending on the animal a Merrow is.
▪ A compulsion to collect shiny trinkets, regardless of their quality or what they are. These can be kept on the Monster as accessories, clothing, etc, or tucked away for admiration at their discretion. This may also result in Merrow stealing away with things they find particularly eyecatching, whether it's from a sunken ship, a town square fountain, or someone's open window. Finder's keepers, and all that.
▪ Possible psychological changes that come with their respective animals or Merfolk/siren lore. Some Merrow may prefer to lay on the river- or seabed floor, others play with their "food" far more roughly than they should, and yet more will be musically inclined. A playful nature isn't uncommon in Merrow, although their definition of play will certainly vary from Monster to Monster.
