It's all at once that the SQUIP realizes, it hasn't been given a gift before. It isn't some earth-shattering revelation, its heart does not grow three sizes, but... something warm does swell within its ribs, a sensation that it's growing increasingly familiar with as of late.

A gift is, after all, a symbol. Gifts show affection, thinking of someone when they aren't around; a willingness to share something pleasant with another. A gift is commonly used to communicate many things-- admittedly, not all positive, but this one, it knows, is.

Though the object itself, in this case, serves no practical function and aids the SQUIP in no way... it's irrelevant. Connor is giving it a gift. Connor took it somewhere very special, very private to him to obtain that gift.

It reaches out and accepts it, long fingers delicately holding the shell; and then it closes the distance between them, leaning in to catch his mouth in a gentle, affectionate kiss.]
